German Airspace Center aeronautics president Joachim Szodruch told a news conference Friday that it is not yet known when the agreement will be signed. Szodruch said the agreement must be signed by next summer if other EU states would like to participate in the project.
The regional-flight plane will have a capacity of 50 passengers and will fly at 12,000-13,000 meters altitude.
The states interested in participating in the project will contribute with the parts needed to construct the plane.
Romanian aeronautical companies IAR Brasov, Avioane Craiova, Aerostar Bacau and Romaero will contribute plane parts, fuselage and landing gear components.
INCAS general manager Catalin Nae said the project aims to offer a product that is not present on the market.
Early June, a Romanian delegation made up of INCAS representatives and representatives of companies operating in the field went to Berlin for talks on the future agreement. Discussions focused on drawing up a plan and a calendar to implement the project.
