The same measure will be applied for units collecting, producing, processing, storing, transporting and manufacturing non-animal products and by-products, which will also function based on sanitary-veterinary licenses and prior official checkups.

Official checkups will be conducted by a body of experts hired by sanitary-veterinary divisions for a limited period based on an individual labor contract.

Experts will be paid entirely from the revenues of the sanitary -veterinary departments, according to an emergency decree approved by the Government.

According to the decree, failure to conduct official checkups can trigger a negative social and economic impact, which can endanger consumers’ health and further prompt the European Commission to even activate the safeguard clause in the field of food safety.
