Romanian Liberal Party Leader Says He Voted For New Era In Romanian Politics

Romanian Liberal Party leader Crin Antonescu said Sunday morning, after casting his vote in the European Parliament elections, that he voted for a good representation of the country in the EU legislative body and the beginning of a new era in Romanian politics.

"I voted for a good representation in the EP and especially for hope in Romania, for the beginning of a new era in Romanian politics,” Antonescu said.

Asked what the European Parliament elections will bring Romanians, the liberal leader said he hopes Romania will have competent EU lawmakers. He added he hopes this election will send a strong signal that politics in Romania is maturing.
