Boc said he accepted the prime minister nomination and added the governing coalition of democrat liberals and social democrats maintains its goal to have the government instated by Dec 22.
"We’ll add the finishing touches to the governing program and we’ll present it to Parliament," Boc said.
He also said a group of experts will be created for consultations on economic and social issues. Boc said he will ask for the central bank’s input on the economic crisis, to enable the governing coalition to come up with the best solutions to counter its effects.
"Theodor Stolojan will remain on our team if he wishes,” Boc added.
Earlier Monday, Stolojan backed out of the Cabinet, saying he wishes to let younger politicians have a shot at top level positions in the country.
Romanian President Traian Basescu nominated Democratic Liberal Party leader Emil Boc in his place for the prime minister office.
