Romania’s Prime Minister Emil Boc met Friday with his Bulgarian counterpart during an official visit to Sofia and they looked into ways to uphold the Romanian minority in Bulgaria.

Boc said the discussions he had with Bulgaria’s prime minister opened new ways to solving issues that concern the Romanian minority’s rights.

Boc also said during a meeting with the representatives of the Romanian minority in Bulgaria, the authorities in Bucharest will uphold projects which support the study of Romanian in schools.

„We will grant non-reimbursable funds to support the Romanian language and culture within the programs carried out by the Department for Romanians abroad,” said Boc.
