The ministry also said nearly RON269.5 million of the total sum will be paid as subsidy per animal to 227,219 cattle breeders who own nearly 1.3 million animals.
According to the ministry, nearly RON95.5 million, of the total sum of RON365 million, will be paid as subsidy per sheep/goat to 44,248 farmers who own 6.3 million sheep and goats.
National complementary direct payments are granted as exploitation subsidy for cattle and subsidy per animal for sheep and goats.
Under European Union rules, all applications submitted for cattle, sheep and goats must be thoroughly checked.
APIA submits to the ministry the list of applications eligible for funding in 2009, namely, until September 15 for cattle, and October 15 for sheep/goats.
Following checkups, 227,073 applications were admitted for funding for nearly 1.3 million cattle and 44,248 applications were admitted for 6.37 million sheep/goats.
