Interior Minister Traian Igas said the institution’s budget for next year is lower than that for 2011.

The ministry has been allotted 8.095 billion lei (EUR1.86 billion) for 2012.

The committees for budget and finance on Tuesday evening adopted the articles of the draft 2012 state budget law in the format put forward by the Government.

All amendments proposed by the Opposition were rejected.

The committees met again Wednesday to debate and vote on the budgets of institutions managing funds, namely the ministries of Economy, Interior, Environment, European Affairs, Communications, Justice, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Education, as well as several government agencies.
