Government To Approve 2019 Budget On Friday Or Saturday – Sources

This would be the second cabinet meeting to take place this week, as the Government is also scheduled to meet on Wednesday, starting with 14.00 local time.

Senate Chairman Calin Popescu Tariceanu announced on Tuesday that the combined standing bureaus of the Parliament’s chambers will meet on Saturday to set a timetable for debate and a vote on the budget project in the Parliament.

Political sources also told MEDIAFAX that budget debates in parliamentary committees will last one week, and the final vote will be scheduled for February 9.

For January, public administration had one twelfth of last year’s budget available by default, as a budget for this year was not approved in time to cover expenses.
