Anticorruption prosecutors brought Doru Gadea before the Bucharest Court, requesting preventive arrest over a period of 25 days. The court sustained the request.
Gadea’s lawyer told MEDIAFAX that the sum involved, allegedly received by the two clerks, is very low, namely RON1,000 (EUR1 = RON3.8121). The lawyer added there are some problems regarding the case, but refused to offer details and said the court decision has already been appealed.
Two clerks in Bucharest City Hall were detained Wednesday evening by anticorruption prosecutors, after a sting operation unfolded in the Dorobanti area of Bucharest, according to legal sources.
The two city hall clerks were picked up by prosecutors in the Dorobanti area and taken for questioning to the headquarters of the National Anticorruption Department.
