Heineken will transfer the production to its other factories in Miercurea Ciuc, Targu Mures, Craiova and Constanta.

The company said it would provide the dismissed employees severance pays packages and will open a professional reorientation center in the area.

In October, the company ended its malt production, making 61 employees redundant. Heineken said it would buy the product from suppliers.

Heineken Romania owns five beer plants in Constanta, Craiova, Hateg, Miercurea-Ciuc and Targu Mures and employs 1,100 people.
