The sources said the new Government might be endorsed by Parliament on December 23 and the next year’s state budget might be approved in a government meeting on December 24.

The Government convened Saturday in an informal meeting to talk on the next year’s state budget. The ministers nominated for the future Cabinet who are not part of the country’s acting Government at the moment were also invited to attend the meeting.

President Traian Basescu said Thursday, after he designated acting Prime Minister Emil Boc for a new term, the new Executive must be endorsed by December 23.

„We must have a functioning government by December 23 so that it can send the budget to parliament by year-end and the parliament may begin debates on January 4 or January 5 and have it approved on January 16,” Basescu said.

Romania’s Parliament will approve next year’s state budget early January in an extraordinary meeting, Boc said Thursday.
