According to the Pension House, Law 225/2007 amends the provisions of Law 578/2007 on granting a monthly aid to a person outliving his/her spouse.
The new law stipulates that a person outliving his/her spouse benefits from a monthly aid, at request, if the respective person is a pensioner when his/her spouse dies.
Moreover, the pensioner requesting the aid must fulfill other conditions as well, namely, to be registered with the public pension system and to have reached at least the standard age of retirement.
