Germany, the U.S. and the Czech Republic have recorded the sharpest drops, while Greece continues to hold the number one hiring country position. The number of jobs in Greece has increased by 11.5%, according to the Balaur.ro index.

Sales/Commerce, IT/Communications and Finance/Accounting/Insurance, still lead the Romanian online job market, with hikes of over 15%, while the fastest growing fields are Advertising/PR and Marketing. The only field that reported a decreasing number of available jobs is that of Education/Arts/Culture. Still, compared to December 2009, the number of availabilities in this field has risen 150%.

Romanian capital Bucharest still leads the market of job openings per capita, followed by the western county Timis. The Bucharest index has risen from 3.50 to 5.08 jobs per thousand inhabitants over the past two months.

The Balaur.ro index, launched in December 2009, analyzes the variation of online recruitment trends in Romania. It evaluates monthly samples of employment ads, both for Romania and abroad, posted on the main Romanian recruitment websites.

The current study was conducted on a sample of jobs taken from the main 22 recruitment websites.
