Opposition Could File No-Confidence Motion Around December 10

“The no-confidence motion will probably be filed around December 10, but with a big probability,” said the MP.

He added that his party is still carrying out negotiations for support of the motion, with the hopes that discontent ruling party MPs will approve it.

However, Atilla Korodi, the leader of Hungarian minority party UDMR’s MP group in the Lower Chamber, announced on Wednesday that the party was not contacted by opposition regarding support for a no-confidence motion, adding though that the party is open to discussing one.

Korodi told MEDIAFAX that he wasn’t approached regarding the motion and doesn’t know if the party would support such an initiative, but also stated that the group is open to discussion.

Opposition party leaders have met several times in the past weeks to discuss a no-confidence motion against the Dancila cabinet. Last week, PNL spokesman Ionel Danca said that the liberals are negotiating with discontent ruling coalition MPs, adding that the party reckons that between 30 and 42 of them could be convinced to support the motion.
