Romanians paid 3.7% more for food items in January compared with January 2018, while non-food prices grew 3.29%, and service prices grew 2.7%.
Compared with December 2018, January food prices grew 1.3%, non-food prices grew 0.6%, and service prices grew 0.57%.
Earlier this week, the central bank raised its year-end inflation forecast for 2019 to 3% from a previous forecast of 2.9%.
