The three former athletes are the brand image for Romania’s second largest lender by assets, BRD-Groupe Societe Generale, and have been featured in the bank’s advertisements since 2004.
According to tourism minister Elena Udrea, the promotion campaign will cost a few million euros, of which EUR2 million has been earmarked for the broadcast of an advertising clip on two large international television networks.
The campaign will be unfolded under the logo "Romania, land of choice" and will also include outdoor prints and online advertisements.
"We will organize an auction to contract two large international television networks. The promotion campaign, in partnership with BRD, which already had a deal with the three athletes, starts at the end of May and will last about one year, until the country’s brand is ready for promotion,” Udrea said Tuesday during a press conference.
