The company’s representatives said the measure would not have significant effects on Petrom’s operations and results.

Trade union leader Gheorghe Baiasu said Saturday that half of Doljchim employees will stay at home between January 10 and February 15 as the sale price of the plant’s products decreased on the global market.

Doljchim currently employs 1,130 people.

Economy minister Adriean Videanu said Saturday Petrom will shut down the chemical plant Doljchim Monday, which will trigger important gas savings.
