„The transport minister has spoken to Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea and asked him to assign 3.5% of GDP next year for railway infrastructure,” Transport Ministry sub-secretary of state Constantin Axinia said Tuesday.

Mid-September, Berceanu said the ministry would have to discard some of its planned infrastructure projects unless it gets 3.5% of GDP in 2010.

„Unless the Ministry of Transports receives at least 3.5% of GDP in 2010, I will be forced to announce, after the budget is published in the Official Journal, which projects have to be halted,” Berceanu said at the time.
