"We might put in a special clause for projects that are underway, unfolded by companies founded with the purpose of using non-reimbursable funds for investments,” Coman said during the Mediafax Talks about SMEs conference

The government decree amending the Fiscal Code has been published and the Finance Ministry has drafted its enforcement norms, which are currently under public debate.

The decree sets that, as of May 1, companies will pay a minimum annual tax ranging from 2,200 lei (about EUR500) if their total revenues don’t exceed RON52,000, to RON43,000 (about EUR10,000) for revenues exceeding RON129 million.

Companies reporting profit will continue to pay a flat tax of 16%, but no less than the minimum tax required in ration to their revenues.
