The MPs enacted the normative act by open vote, with only two abstentions and no cons. Meeting chairwoman Daniela Popa did not state the number of votes expressed in favor of the legislative proposal.
The normative act was debated in a plenary meeting of the Chamber Monday afternoon, but it could not be enacted for lack of quorum.
The normative act amends article 26 of Law 90/2001 on the organization of the government and stipulates that, under extraordinary circumstances, whose regulation cannot be postponed, the Government can initiate draft laws to ratify international treaties and the draft state and social security budgets.
The legislative proposal was sent to Senate, which is the decision maker in this matter.
