The senator may appeal the ruling before the Supreme Court’s panel of nine judges.
Voicu said during court debates on his request that audio and video evidence prosecutors hold against him is likely forged and complained about the media frenzy surrounding his case.
Voicu was arrested for one month on charges of influence peddling and fraud. Last week, Supreme Court judge Florin Costiniu and businessmen Marius Locic and Costel Casuneanu were also placed under arrest in the same case.
The three have also appealed the arrest decision and the Supreme Court is expected to rule on their appeal Monday.
