Basescu urged political parties to launch for debate, during the upcoming electoral campaign, a draft law regarding wages of state employees, adding the country needs a government with a 50% support in Parliament to debate the issue in a responsible way.

The head of state called on political parties "and all the other interested parties" to launch for public debate the elaboration of a draft law to reasonably and fairly balance the wages of state employees.

Basescu called on the government, lawmakers and unions to responsibly tackle the challenged issue of wage hikes for public sector employees.
