"Exit-polls show UDMR has succeeded and will succeed in having a group in Parliament as strong as, or even stronger, it did so far. Skeptics were wrong and those who trusted the solidarity of our voters, of the Hungarian minority, were right. We want to thank everyone who voted for us and UDMR has offers for reform in all the major aspects of our lives,” Marko said.
The Hungarian leader added he wishes the country’s future government succeeds in reforming major sectors.
"I don’t know how many parties will end up forming governing coalition, but we need a government with a large majority. We need a majority government that is stable and has a clear European reform plan for Romania," Marko said.
Two exit polls projected UDMR on the fourth place in voters’ preferences with 6.7% for both the Chamber of Deputies and Senate.
