The first mono-brand Emporio Armani store will be opened end-2010 by Alsa Boutique that owns several luxurious franchises in Romania, respectively Max Mara, Marela, La Perla, Mariella Burani, Ermenegildo Zegna and Pal Ziler.

Moreover, Victoria 46 franchisee that owns the largest multi-brand store in the capital city Bucharest, will open a Zilli store this fall, according to a CPP survey.

Victoria 46 is owned by Israeli group Solmar, the franchisee of Mango, Promod and Castro brands.

Even if Romania’s luxury product market saw an up to 35% drop in 2009, at EUR350 million, due to the economic crisis, CPP estimates the market will revive this year.

The CPP survey shows that most of the luxury fashion brands operated locally through franchises recorded up to 20% drops on the year in 2009.
