The list of judges cumulating the service pension and important income in the public sector includes the following members of the Constitutional Court: former chief prosecutor of Romania Nicolae Cochinescu (service pension of 9,951 lei (EUR1 = RON4.2764) and additional income from the public sector of RON125,731), Acsinte Gaspar (service pension of RON8,993 lei and additional income of RON79,714), Aspazia Cojocaru (service pension of RON7,388 and additional income of RON78,282), Ioan Predescu (service pension of RON7,388 and additional income of RON76,897), and Gabor Kozsokar (service pension of RON9,095 and income of RON110,451).
The Constitutional Court allowed the exception raised by the ombudsman, stating that Government Emergency Ordinance 230/2008 is unconstitutional because it violates the fundamental rights mentioned in the Constitution regarding the right to labor and the right to pension, namely it goes against article 115 section 6 of the fundamental law.
The Constitutional Court decision is final and binding.
