Basescu told a news conference in Brussels he will invite political parties for talks on the conclusions drawn during the European Council meeting, adding these conclusions should change the behavior of all parliamentary parties that want to fit European standards.

The head of state said another topic to be discussed concerns Romania’s accession to the Schengen area and its correlation to the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism, as well as the country’s future relations with the International Monetary Fund.

Basescu participated Thursday and Friday in this year’s fall meeting of the European Council, which took place in Brussels.
