Romania trade deficit widened 14.3% in January-April period to EUR6.902 billion, from EUR6.035 in the year-earlier period, with exports continuing to grow at a faster pace than imports, the National Statistics Institute said Monday.

Automobile Dacia, the Romanian unit of French carmaker Renault, reported a 31.1% hike in its sales during the first four months of 2008, to 83,917 units, Renault said in a statement Friday.
