Romanian prime minster Ludovic Orban said Monday he has decided to resign as head of government, ahead of negotiation for a new Cabinet after Sunday's parliamentary elections.

Teodor Meleşcanu has announced on Monday that he decided to retire from the position of Senate chairman, even though has not been published yet the decision of the Constitutional Court admitting the unconstitutionality of his election as the head of the Senate.
