The gross average salary was at RON1,973 in April, down 4.9% on the month.
In April, the avergage net salary was lower compared with a month earlier, when employees received occasional loyalty bonuses and a higher output was reported. Moreover, salaries dropped on the month in April due to furlough and companies’ financial difficulties.
Employees in the brokerage sector saw the biggest average net salaries, of RON3,620 in April, while employees in the hotel and restaurant sector were at the opposite pole, with RON803.
The April net average salary in agriculture was down 2.1% on the month, at RON1,033, while the employees in the energy sector saw a 1.4% salary decrease on the month, to RON2,595.
Net salaries in industry averaged RON1,225 in April, down 3.8% from March.
The employees in the tobacco manufacturing products saw a 30.9% salary drop on the month in April, at RON2,805.
The average net salary in Romania was up 2% on the year in April.
