The campaign will stretch over several days in the center of Rome. The initiative was launched by several associations of Romanians in Italy, in collaboration with the Romanian Embassy, authorities in Lazio, the mayoralty of Rome and the Italian Association of Blood Donors.
"This initiative is important from a social and sanitary point of view. The blood collected is a step toward regional sufficiency which we hope to achieve in 2008," said regional healthcare authority Augusto Battaglia.
