Pivniceru explained that this decision was reached after extended talks Monday night, because the other professional associations did not agree with the idea of a criminal complaint.
Regarding a potential criminal complaint against the Government, Mona Pivniceru said talks between magistrate associations will be resumed at the end of the week.
The president of the AMR said that Tuesday she will go to the High Court of Justice, as well as to the High Council of Magistrates, to establish “the common direction of action” and to set a clear list of claims.
The administrative act of withdrawing the 50% mental strain bonus received by magistrates sparked the complaints of magistrates nationwide. After two days of temporary halts in courtroom activities and since the Ministry of Justice said on multiple occasions that these bonuses cannot be paid, the professional associations of magistrates decided to suspend courtroom activities daily, for three hours, over an undetermined interval.
Auxiliary staff in courts expressed support for these actions, through the daily cease of activity for two hours, also over an undetermined interval.
The magistrates obtained a victory in the Bucharest Court of Appeal, where they challenged the administrative act in question. Predoiu said he would appeal the ruling.
