Compensated Medicine Prices Will Drop By Some 10% – Romanian Health Min

Romanian health minister Ion Bazac announced Thursday after the meeting with distributors, producers and pharmacists that the price of compensated medicine will decrease by some 10% starting with February 1, contrary to the statements made by distributors and producers, who said prices could grow.

"Starting with February 1, the draft order on the calculation of human use medicine prices will come into force. The reduction of the prices comes from the different calculation of the CIP price (the price upon entry in the country), respectively the choice of the lowest price in 12 European countries and its calculation in Lei and in Euro as before," Bazac said.

He also added the order will be approved and posted on the Ministry of Health website on January 31.
