Orban said it is impossible that some 2000 employees communicated among them in a manner that they would be able to cease and resume activity simultaneously.
In his opinion, this action was coordinated by railroad union leaders. He added that, in this respect, the statements made by union leaders are eloquent. "The move is illegal," Orban said.
The dignitary mentioned that measures were taken Thursday night, together with the managers of the three Romanian railroad companies. Thus, the minister said that management was mobilized, first thing in the morning, on all segments of the three companies.
In parallel, alternative staff was prepared for the situation where employees refuse to perform their duties. Another measure involved the mobilization of control teams, which would perform checks that would enable pinpoint sanctions for these violations.
At the same time, Orban said management informed the employees on the consequences of further train traffic tampering, so they might be familiar with the effects should they resort to such actions.
Still, Orban says that all these measures failed to prevent the traffic halt.
The leaders off railroad unions said that the action on Friday, which lasted some three hours and led to the blocking of multiple trains in stations, was a voluntary one.
