Romanian Senate’s Legal Committee Approves Draft Pension Law With Amendments

The Romanian Senate’s committee for legal matters Tuesday approved the draft pension law with amendments which set special retirement conditions for judges and magistrates, committee for legal matters vice-president Iulian Urban told MEDIAFAX.

Urban said the committee adopted the country’s draft pension law with amendments which allow judges and prosecutors with at least 25 years of seniority to apply for retirement and set that magistrates can retire five years earlier than stipulated in the draft law.

Committee for legal matters senators also approved an amendment to eliminate an article of the draft law, which refers to recalculating pensions taking into account the annual average pension point and pension quantum.
