Romanian Defense Ministry Included In Weapon Heist Trial

Romanian military judges decided, Thursday, to include the Ministry of National Defense in the case file where 11 soldiers are indicted in the Ciorogarla weapon heist.

In the Thursday term, the Bucharest Military Court decided to postpone the trial of the case, when one of the defendants, corporal Marian Constantin Danciu, requested time to hire a lawyer.
 
At the same time, the court decided the Ministry of National Defense will be included in the case file.
 
On the other hand, on the next term, the court will debate the formal request issued by one of the defendants’ lawyer, for the classification of all court meetings in this trial, as the trial could involve aspects concerning national security.
 
Debates were postponed for March 26.
 
Eleven Romanian soldiers were sent to trial, in the weapon heist case at the military base Ciorogarla, under charges of theft, absence without leave and violation of the weapons and ammo regulations.
