Two men in their 50’s from, Bucharest and Prahova county respectively, died on Wednesday due to type A influenza, according to Romania’s National Public Health Institute (INSP).
The institute also announced on Thursday that another 64-year old man from Constanta county who died on February 2 was confirmed with the disease.
All three victims also had other medical conditions and did not receive flu shots.
Romania’s Health Ministry officially declared a flu epidemic on January 30, following three consecutive weeks in which the number of new cases surpassed initial estimates.
