Romanian social democrat secretaries of state will resign their positions in the government in solidarity with the resigning social democrat ministers.

Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc asked the social democrat ministers at the end of the government meeting if they reconsidered their stance to support minister Dan Nica, to which Ilie Sarbu replied their stance is the same, Boc adding that in this case he awaits President Traian Basescu’s decision.

The liberals’ county branch in Brasov, central Romania, is missing 100 members as of Tuesday following their en-bloc resignation due to certain “groups of interests that run the local branch.”

The members of the board of directors of football club Rapid Bucharest resigned Tuesday, citing financial problems at the football club, FC Rapid board member Alexandru Bunea said Tuesday.
