Korodi made these statements within the Festival of Local Televisions and Independent Producers SIMFEST, where he was president of the jury in the documentary contest "Mediul în media," within the festival.

"From my point of view, the situation is serious. (…) For those who are illegally lumberjacking, property is not an issue, so it is not the owners that do this, but organized groups, and this makes matters worse and demands specific actions, which need to be taken to stop these evolutions, which are very brutal and cannot be compared to the actions seen in early 2000," Korodi said.

Later, Korodi told media he makes these statements based on “some very serious reports from special institutions” and the Ministry of Environment needs to push all concerned institutions “to sit at the same table and take some important action.”
